The debate is over! New Zealand has made the news for all the wrong reasons. Statistics show we have the second highest rate of school bullying in the world! Research indicates New Zealand is a fat nation - 1 in 3 children are overweight and there is growing concern about the inactivity of our children. Sports clubs compete with shopping malls for membership and participation! The New Zealand Ministry of Health estimates that a 10% increase in activity could result in 600 fewer deaths a year and save $55 million in reduced health expenditure.

Our vision is to inspire and help kids to be more active and healthy. We'll only realise this vision by making everything accessible and fun. We have created funding and promotional initiatives that fuel social and physical educational programmes. We want to provide a framework for children to start to formulate habits and behaviours that set them up to lead inspired, empowered and healthy lives.

2009, California Peaches, Plums and Nectarines have committed to partnering with the Active Kids School Charitable Trust. Together, we have created the Let's Get Pro-Active promotional programme that will support Active Schools and other Schools by supporting their programmes and programmes delivered by Regional Sports Trusts. An example of this is the PAL programme. PAL stands for Physical Activity Leader, which is a programme for older primary school children who have qualified as a PAL to assist in delivering sporting and physical activity opportunities and activities in the school playground during school time. Please support our programmes and together we can make a better tomorrow for our kids.

What saves us is to take a step. Then another step.
